Environment

What is the school environment like?

Our classrooms are homely and provide a nurturing and secure setting for the children.  The rooms are designed around the child with beautiful, soft
colours and the use of natural and high quality learning materials.  The child is free to choose activities within the prepared environment which enables an active and self motivated learning process to flourish.  The child feels literally at home where the activities reflect the natural routines of real life.

We believe in providing plenty of space for children to move as indeed young children learn through the movement of their bodies and through actively 'doing'.  The movement of the body is  vital for the healthy development of the intellect, particularly for the development of language skills. Space in Hong Kong is in short supply and many young children lack enough opportunity for this freedom to run, jump, build with large objects and develop strong physical bodies.

We provide outdoor garden activities such as caring for plants and animals, sand and water play as well as physical education.  Each spacious classroom has direct access to the outdoor facilities.

Our school is located near the top of Victoria Peak,  occupying some 8000 square feet and provides the space for an open door policy for all concerned with the issue of childhood in the 21st century.  It has been designed to provide 4 unusually spacious classrooms filled with natural light and has purpose built kitchens incorporated for the opportunity of cooking and baking with the children. The large terrace area overlooking Pok Fu Lam Country Park commands breathtaking views of the South China Sea.  It is ideal for outdoor activities and play.  The idyllic location is peaceful and provides a wonderful setting for nature walks nearby.
